The Health Triangle was coined by Dr. David Katz in the early 1990’s to help people determine whether and how to improve their health.
It has since been used around the world to help people see where their strengths and weaknesses are so they can focus on improving themselves instead of stressing about their health.
The Health Triangle is a simple idea in that it isn’t an exact science. You can think of it as a “health profile” in that you have at least some idea of what your health is like based on the things you do and the things you don’t. That way you can then pick the areas you want to focus on (like nutrition) and then work on improving those areas.
Our own study found that there are areas in the health triangle where people excel and areas where people are the worst. In essence, everyone has different health parameters, and it takes work to improve them. But the good news is that it doesn’t have to be as extreme as the “fat or thin” argument that some people seem to get. Our own research discovered that people were more likely to succeed in areas where they perceived themselves to be at a disadvantage.
It’s also interesting to consider that some people who are fat are also more likely to be overweight. The reason for this is that people tend to look for what they perceive to be a “lighter” body. This is because some people are genetically predisposed to overweight and they are more likely to be overweight, therefore they are more likely to look for a shape that will fit into the “lighter” category.
If you’re in the overweight category, then you are also more likely to feel overweight. I think this is why people tend to look for leaner, fatter bodies.
In theory, it makes sense that your body shape could affect your health. For example, if you are very fit, you are more likely to have a healthy body with a healthy heart. If you are in the middle of the fitness-eating spectrum, then you are more likely to have a healthy body with unhealthy eating habits. And if you are in the obese category, then you are more likely to have a healthy body with unhealthy eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle habits.
If the first two factors are equal, then your BMI (body mass index) will likely be one of the strongest predictors of your health. You can calculate your BMI by putting your height and weight (or your body mass if you don’t want to weigh yourself) into a calculator and finding how much you weigh relative to your height.
Obesity is a serious health issue, and it’s not just affecting the obese: it’s an issue for all of us. Obesity is a real problem, and there are a great many things that we can do to help prevent it. Of course, it’s not that simple and all of our success is dependent on how healthy we are and how much weight we lost.
