So here’s the thing: if you’ve read my food blog, you’ll know I love to cook. I also love to eat. But I’m not always a good cook. I’m a terrible cook. So when I read a recipe, I’m just like, “Huh, I’ve been good at cooking for the last five years but now I’m not even sure how to start!” So that’s why I’m here.
So I love cooking. I love to eat. But I cant cook for everyone. Thats why I started this food blog, to help people cook what they like and eat what they like. I don’t always follow recipes exactly, and I also don’t always follow recipes exactly for the most part. So if you see something you like, you can always go back and try it that way.
One of the main ways to cook is from scratch, and that’s something that people who cook for a living don’t always do well. If you want to know what I’m talking about, look up “barbarian”, “cooking from scratch” on the internet. I’ve written a blog article on it, and a book.
And it’s not that you can’t re-create someone else’s recipe, but most recipes are quite simple, so to say that you can only try to replicate someone else’s recipe is simply untrue. Ive worked for a restaurant for a while that had a good recipe for chicken tenders that only took 15 minutes. And I wont even get into the fact that you can get a recipe from a website.
The fact is that most recipes are actually quite simple. Whether you are cooking steak or making a salad, the steps are fairly obvious. And when you’re reading a recipe that seems to take a couple of hours to make, it’s probably because the recipe took you longer than that to prepare.
